Post 2: The Library

Prom was a blast but Graduation was around the corner! I had to stop reminiscing on the fun times I had at that exuberant event. I had to start worrying about important things, like what to where to Graduation! I wasn’t about to look like I rolled right of bed and especially as if it were another day of school. This event is a huge stepping stone for a woman such as myself. It is the bridge to the other side, adulthood.
Seeing as this school has no sympathy for students that have to use the internet by not installing any Wi-Fi systems, I had to head over to the library to do some research.

The Library. Such a dreaded place for women of such high status, such as myself. There are only two reasons why someone should want to go to the library out of free will. One. Your phone, your friend’s phone, and even your teacher’s phone can’t get access to the internet and you have to desperately search something of great importance, then you may go to the library and use the computers there. Two. There’s a really cute guy that likes a woman who takes pleasure in reading, then you may go and pick up highly intelligent book that attracts the guy to come talk to you. And that’s it. But today I had to use reason one: I had to search something important but my phone, Becky’s phone, and even Mr.Barknor’s phone didn’t have access to the internet. Since I had a valid excuse, I allowed myself to pass those 40 year old double doors that desperately needed a paint job and a wood shredder.

Sitting in the library was so boring. No one could laugh, sneeze, cough, or breathe. I always saw a couple of people laugh but they were looking at a book and I know that there is no way one could laugh at a book. So it was obvious that they were hiding their phone behind the cover and looking at funny photos of cats making stupid faces. As I sat there, I heard a little whisper that said my name. I paid no attention to it, it was probably another weirdo wanting my number or my pencil. But I kept hearing someone whisper my name and the voice sounded familiar, so I decided to take a look around and find the culprit. As I observed my surroundings I spotted my friend Becky at the Library doors. She had been the one calling my name. I had to go to her because Becky made an oath at the beginning of high school that she was never going to step foot into a library, and so far she hasn’t.

“Yeah Becky?”

“What the heckers are you doing in this vile place,” she said with only her head peeking into the door.

“Reason One.”

“Oh. What are you searching.”

“Well Graduation is coming up and I need the perfect outfit.”

“Yeah and How is that of great importance?”

“Well I can’t go looking like a commoner. I have to stand out because..,”

“Yeah, yeah, Graduation is a stepping stone to womenhood blah blah,” she said as if she’s heard it millions of times.

“Precisely. Actually, it’s a stepping stone for a women like me. And it’s a Bridge to adulthood not womanhood,” I said correcting her mistake.

“Yeah Whatever. Ok I’ll catch you later. If I don’t see that you’re out of here in like 20 minutes I will automatically assume that something horrible has happened to you in this Brains-Infested place and I will call the Cops. K? Bye. Peace Out!” Becky said with such attitude.

I love Becky but that ‘Peace Out’ outro always bothers me. Well then with 20 minutes on the clock I had to act fast and find the perfect outfit. Of the bat I know that I can’t wear blue or white because it would clash with my Graduation Gown but I also want to show class spirit, to give the impression to my classmates that I care and I’m going to be sad to leave. How about something simple, class-spirity yet fashionable. A nice silver dress with crystals all over and real diamonds imbedded on the trim. It was perfect! This dress would state that I am a mature student who is going to great heights but it would also say that I am still a common student just like any other.

With all my worries taken care of, I could calmly go by my days at school without worrying. Getting manicures and pedicures as rewards for the great job I did taking care of everything that had to be done. What surprised me though was all the stress that others were going through. You would see students sitting with their laptops typing excessively and by mid-April a lot of people were in tears.

I wonder what was making them so sad.

Post 1: Summer Fling

“Hey Babe! So are you ready to begin that Summer Fling.” As he reached in for a kiss, I had to pause. If it were any other day I would've said yes in a heartbeat. I mean look at him, well you can’t but I can, he is the most popular guy in school and the hottest! But with my High School Graduation rolling around the corner I had to get a reality check. I gave myself time to reflect on my life and process the decisions that I have made. The conclusion I came to is that I am a total wreck! I had to get my life together and having a “Summer Fling” with Chase was not going to help.
“Look here, Chase. The past few days has served as a time of reflection and reexamination. I have reviewed the situation of our so-called Fling and I have…umm… surmised that it would be of no value and quite…cumbersome towards my future. I am heading in a different path, one that includes responsibility, poise, and big vocabularious words,” I said with such certainty. The confused look on his face just proved to me that I was making the right decision. His simple mind couldn't comprehend the perspicacious words I was using. Wait. Does that word fit there?
My parents have been very supportive of my new change in heart. They understand that there is always a point in a girls, I mean women’s life, that she must realize the value of her time and how she must use it wisely. As celebration for this momentous occasion, my parents got me a gift. So unexpected! As I tore away the wrapping paper that had such vivid and vibrant colors, a hard covered wonder was revealed. My very own dictionary, that’s where I've been getting all these gargantuan words from. I’m not quite sure how to use them yet but I believe that over time I’ll get the hang of it.
Now, I am not completely changing my persona. I've always said that once you make it, you've made it! And I've already made it! So who says I can’t acquire higher knowledge and still be cute. I plan to be that cool yet down to earth popular girl. The one who is nice to everyone, gets super involved with everything, and gets to date all the cute guys. I couldn't be more excited for college!
